The ALH Groups Newmarket Hotel faced significant acoustic challenges, with excessive noise levels disrupting the customer experience across its bar, dining, and function areas. Poor sound absorption led to an uncomfortable environment, impacting both patrons and staff prior to the refurbishment. To address these issues, designer Cayas + Ward tailored an acoustic solution using Autex Acoustics innovative materials. Sydney Acoustics partnered with builder Unita to implement and deliver the desired aesthetics an acoustically healthy spaces for the patrons of all age levels.

In the bar area, Autex 12mm VJ Acoustic Timber was installed along the perimeter. This product not only reduced noise levels but also introduced a sleek timber-style finish, seamlessly blending with the bar’s modern design.

In the dining area, poor acoustics were tackled with Autex 12mm Groove panels in the colours of Parthenon and Petronas. These panels enhanced speech clarity and reduced ambient noise, creating a more enjoyable and intimate dining atmosphere.

The function room presented unique challenges due to its multi-purpose nature. Sydney Acoustics designed and installed custom Autex 12mm Cube panels on the ceiling, ensuring superior sound quality for a variety of events, from small gatherings to larger functions.

Through these targeted interventions, Sydney Acoustics, in collaboration with Unita and Cayas + Ward, transformed the ALH Newmarket Hotel into a welcoming space with acoustics tailored to enhance the customer experience. The result is a venue that combines aesthetic driven finishes with acoustic excellence, achieving an enjoyable hospitality destination for the Northern Sydney suburbs.
